Picture Motion Browser Installer Utility for Microsoft® Windows Vista® 64-bit Operating Systems

• This utility is intended for use with, and requires, the original installation disc for Picture Motion Browser versions 1.1 through 2.1.02.
  • Please refer to the label of your original Picture Motion Browser installation disc to determine what version you have.
  • If your version of Picture Motion Browser is higher than 2.1.02 you can install it on a computer with Windows Vista 64-bit operating system directly from the installation disc without using this utility.
    IMPORTANT: For compatibility with Windows Vista 64-bit operating systems, it is necessary to update Picture Motion Browser to version 3.2 or higher after installing Picture Motion Browser from the original installation disc. Please use the link in the You May Need This section above to download the latest version.
• This utility requires a factory preinstalled version of Windows Vista 64-bit operating system.
  Note: This utility may not function properly on a computer that has been upgraded to Windows Vista 64-bit operating system, or in a multi-boot environment.
• Starter versions of Windows Vista operating system are not supported.
• Please consult the instructions that came with your version of Picture Motion Browser for computer system requirements.
  Note: Installing Picture Motion Browser using this utility requires more than twice the available hard disk space indicated in the original installation instructions.
• During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended that you print out these instructions for use as a reference during the installation process.

2. Click the "Download Now" link at the top or bottom of this page.
3. Download the x64PMBInstaller0903.exe file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
4. Insert the original Picture Motion Browser installation disc in the computer.
   Note: If a software installation window appears, or a Windows AutoPlay window appears, please close the window before continuing.
5. Go to the directory where the x64PMBInstaller0903.exe file was downloaded and double-click the file to start the "PMB Installer for Vista 64-bit" utility.
6. At the "PMB Installer for Vista 64-bit" window, click "Start".
7. The copying status window appears, please wait while the installation files are copied.
8. At the "Installation of PMB will start." message, click "OK".
9. Please follow the on-screen prompts carefully to continue the installation.
   Note: Depending on your camera model, you may be prompted to connect the camera to the computer during the installation. If prompted to do so, connect your camera to the computer using the USB cable supplied with the camera.
10. When the installation complete screen appears, follow the on-screen instructions and then restart the computer.
11. After the computer restarts, continue to the "Update Picture Motion Browser" section below to update Picture Motion Browser to a version that is compatible with Windows Vista 64-bit operating systems.

After using the Picture Motion Browser Installer Utility to install Picture Motion Browser from your original installation disc, please follow the steps below to to download and install the Picture Motion Browser updates that are necessary to use Picture Motion Browser with a Windows Vista 64-bit operating system.

1. Download and install the latest version of Picture Motion Browser.
   Note: Please use the link in the You May Need This section above.
2. If you have an α (alpha) series DSLR camera, the Image Data Converter SR and Sony® Image Data Suite software supplied with the camera are not installed by this tool. For Windows Vista 64-bit compatible versions of those programs download and install the Sony Image Data Suite Update.
   Note: Please use the link in the You May Need This section above. If that download is not included in the "You May Need This" section, the download is not available for your camera.

This completes the update process and Picture Motion Browser will now work properly with Windows Vista 64-bit operating systems in the 32-bit compatibility mode.
