What does this do?
This utility updates the SigmaTel® Audio driver to version 6.10.5614.0 to address an issue where there’s no audio after performing the Windows® Anytime Upgrade (WAU).

Important Notes

- During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

Download and Installation Instructions

- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- Download the STDAUD-01487701-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
- Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the STDAUD-01487701-US.EXE file to begin the installation.
- At the "SigmaTel Audio Driver" screen, click "Next".
- At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation.
- At the "Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for IDT Audio" screen, click "Next".
- At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" and then click "Finish".
- At the "Program Compatibility Assistant" screen, click "This program installed correctly".
- Restart the computer.

Audio Playback Devices Setup Instructions for the VGN-AR series

- On the task bar, right-click the speaker icon.
- On the pop-up menu, select "Playback Devices".
- At the "Sound" screen, right-click "Speakers/Headphones" and select "Set as Default Device", then click "OK".
