From the eSupport home page type your model number in the Already know your model number? box. If you need help locating your model number on your Sony product, use the link titled How do I find my model number? just under the box.
You can select one of the round radio buttons to quickly get to How-to, Downloads or Manual / Specs sections for your model.
About entering the model number:
- Type the model number as it appears on your Sony product.
- Example: NEX-5 or VPCSB31FX/W
- It is not necessary to enter the dash when you enter your model number
- This area is NOT case sensitive
- Click the blue GO button to go to the model's home page for your Sony product.
When you arrive at the model's home page, you will find a variety of useful information. To search further, use the What are you looking for? box on the right. Type your question and click the SEARCH button. The What are you looking for? box is found only under the How to & Troubleshooting tab, so be sure to click on that tab to see the search box shown here.
After you click SEARCH, a list of solutions will be displayed. You can use the Sort By choices to
bring what you are looking for to the top of the list.
If you'd like to search the entire site, not just the articles relevant to your model, check the round radio button at the top of the page labeled Entire Site, as shown here.
Quick Tips
- Enter a clear and concise search phrase.
Example: My computer will not turn on.
- When performing a non-model specific search, include the product type in the search.
Example: Computer, Camera, etc.
- For the best results specific to your model, go to the model's home page before you search.
How To Refine Your Search
- Use AND to search for two or more terms:
Example: audio and volume
- Use OR to search for terms with similar meanings:
Example: TV blurry or fuzzy picture, will return items relevant to both TV blurry picture and TV fuzzy picture.
- Use -- (double minus sign) to exclude an item from the search results. This is useful when you want to limit the results presented.
Example: audio cable --optical will return results for all audio cables except optical audio cables.
Narrow Your Search Results
On the bottom of the page you will find an area called Narrow Your Search Results. Here you can choose to filter the search results to get more specific.
