How to Add, Remove and Customize Apps on the Sony® dash™ Personal Internet Viewer

Select the method by which you would like to add or remove apps on the Sony dash personal Internet viewer.


Add or remove apps using a computer

Add an app:

  1. Go to www.sony.com/mydash and sign in.
  2. Click the Apps tab.
  3. Select or search for an app.
  4. Tap Add to Channel.

  5. Select a channel and then click ADD.


    Note: To create a new channel to which to add the app, click CREATE CHANNEL.


Add, remove and customize apps and channels

  1. Go to www.sony.com/mydash and sign in.
  2. Click the My Dash tab.
  3. Select My dashboard
  4. Select the desired dash device and channel from the drop-down menus and then click Manage Channel.

  5. There are 3 sections for managing apps and channels:
    • Manage Channels: You can add, delete or rename a selected channel.
    • Add Apps: You can select apps to add to the channel.
    • Manage Apps: You can customize, remove or send apps to another channel.

Note: The dash viewer will operate outside of the United States. However, if you are not able to find an app on a channel after you have added it, the app may be restricted for use in the United States only. There are some apps that are designed specifically for United States customers. Currently there is no way of knowing which apps on the My dash site are restricted for United States use. Although the apps can be added to your channels, including the restricted apps, restricted apps will either not appear on any of your channels through the dash viewer, or they will not play on the device.



Add, remove and customize apps using the Sony dash device

There are 2 basic methods for adding, removing and customizing apps on the Sony dash device.

Method 1:

  1. Tap the arrow in the top-right corner of the app to go to full screen mode.
  2. Press the MENU/SNOOZE button on the top of the dash viewer.

    • Tap Delete to delete the current app.
    • Tap Customize to change the title or duration of time the app plays.
    • Tap Add to browse and then add apps to the current channel.

Method 2:

  1. Press the MENU/SNOOZE button on the top of the dash viewer.
  2. Tap MENU.
  3. Tap Themes & Apps.
    • To add an app:
      1. Tap Browse Apps.
      2. Tap the desired app category.
      3. Tap the desired app within the category.
      4. Tap Add.
    • To remove or customize an app:
      1. Tap Edit Channels.
      2. Tap the channel you want to edit.
      3. Tap either Delete or Customize.


Why does it take so long for apps to be added or deleted on dash?

It is possible that there may be a significant time delay when adding or deleting apps from the dash personal Internet viewer. This can be a result of a number of items, including your network configuration or heavy Internet traffic.

If there has been no change with the app after 30 minutes, try the following steps:

  1. Press the MENU/SNOOZE button on the top of the dash viewer.
  2. Tap MENU.
  3. Tap Themes & Apps.
  4. Tap Change Channels.
  5. Try changing to a different channel, then go back to the channel to which you added the app to see if the app is now listed.

If there is still no difference after changing channels, unplug the AC power adapter from the dash viewer, wait approximately 30 seconds, then plug the power adapter back in to reinitialize the device.
